What is a Self Build and Can I do it?

Self Build is term often used to describe a persons building method. It basically means that the owner of the property or plot decides to take on the build themselves. There are many different advantages of doing a self build but like anything it has a process. It has often been the case that a person takes on a self build but ends up hiring a contractor to finish the project. There are a number of simple reasons for this.

It’s most important to know what you are looking for when doing a self build and this starts with your architect. Probably the most important person you will meet during your building life-cycle. The architect will bring your vision to life and the fact it’s your vision is even more motivation to take on a Self Build.

The most important thing is that it is right for you and that you don’t end up regretting it.
